Photography and Violence 08/03/2011

I never really got this picture but of course it got a splash in the Newspaper I was working on at the time. It still seems a relatively unimportant photograph to me but there is certainly something about photography that makes it suitable for the communication of disgust and violence as well as the sweet things in life. I think sometimes people have a need to be shocked and horrified as well as warmed by imagery. Rupert Murdoch's papers have lived on this quandary of human spirit for most of my career.
